A major reason for our excursion to Utah was to see Cooper for one last time before entering the Missionary Training Center. He will be there for about 3 weeks before he goes to Texas. It was pretty emotional when he came down the stairs in his suit and tie. He looked so ready and so excited. He overcame a lot of obstacles to get there. His stitches started to come out from his previous cornia transplant in his eye and they weren't sure if the corrective surgery would work to allow him to go. His dog Samantha of 9 years was put to sleep a couple of days before he left, and he drove with his parents about 15 hours in dangerous blizzard weather to make it. It is amazing how when you decide to dedicate yourself to the Lord, Satan pulls out all the stops to keep you from doing it.
These videos of Averi and Owen sledding make me laugh so hard. The last one is of Owen crying after hurting himself on the sled. I wasn't there and it made me so sad.
